15 July 2007 No Comment

Henry Paulson JR is the United States Treasury Secretary. Paulson has been serving as Treasury Secretary since May 30, 2006. In addition, Paulson serves as a member of the the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Board of Governors. Before becoming Treasury Secretary, Paulson served as CEO and Chairman of Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs is one of the most successful and prestigious global investment banks.

These credentials evidence how experienced, knowledgeable, and successful Paulson is. In this 2004 video, filmed at the Harvard Business School, Paulson comments on a variety of business, economic, and investing issues. Also, Paulson fields some interesting and funny audience questions.

Specifically, Paulson discusses some of the following topics:
1. Concerns about the defect and the importance of government spending control
2. Free Trade
3. Globalization
4. Balance between regulation and the free market
5. Business leadership and social responsibility
7. Investment banking and having a work-life balance
8. Comparison and growth prospects of the Indian and Chinese economies
9. Intellectual Property
10. Human rights in China
11. Outsourcing and the impact on high-skill jobs
12. Business ethics and integrity

This video provided a very interesting and thoughtful prospective about the these issues. The audience question about the work-life balance of an investment banking analyst (who often work 80+ hours per week) was very funny, and Paulson’s response was interesting.
